I love my Grandpa so, very much. He does a lot of nice things for my family. He now works for the U.S Postal Service. He still works in a service. Am I right? You might also see him delivering mail on your block. I love you Grandpa!

My friend, David's mom, Michaelle and his Dad, Matt are both veterans of the Army. Michaelle was one of the people that helped people. Both my Papa's were in the army too. I think that is cool and they helped USA.

Thank you to all my fellow veterans that served before me and that continue to serve. I am proud and honored to live in the best country in the world. Let freedom ring!
Not to be indecisive, but there are several veterans who I personally appreciate. Starting with the oldest, my grandfather, James Cochran, was an infantryman in World War I; and my wife's great uncle, F.G. Moffit, was a submariner aboard the USS K-3 during that same conflict. Jumping ahead to World War II, my Dad's brother, William Cochran--the gentlest, most soft-spoken man I ever met--was his infantry company's bazooka-man during the Battle of the Bulge in northern France and on until V-E Day; my wife's great uncle, Don Wheeler, flew bombers out of northern Italy, taking part in several raids against the Nazi-controlled Ploesti Oil Fields in Romania--and, though survival rates for bomber-crews were appalling, stayed on for twice the number of missions required for an honorable discharge; Don's brother, Phil, flew P-51 Mustangs as a fighter-escort for B-17s across the English Channel and over northern Europe; and Don and Phil's sister, Carol, was a WASP: one of just a few hundred women who flew for the U.S. Army Air Force (as test pilots, ferrying aircraft from West Coast manufacturing plants to East Coast shipping terminals--even towing practice targets for anti-aircraft gunners in Corpus Cristi, TX--yikes!). My own father was an airman during the Korean War, and currently my wife's sister is a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. She flies refueling tankers that enable fighter planes to stay aloft for long stretches, and her service includes combat tours in both Gulf wars and, most recently, Afghanistan. There so many people who work to keep the United States safe--thanks for this opportunity to single out a few.
