I have to correct myself I do have a tradition it is giving Santa chocolate milk instead of white milk. I know that is not the biggest tradition, but I like to think that I do something different.

When I used to live in Chicago I visited my cousins for Cristmas. So my mom and my cousins family would play songs and dance. While me and my little cousins would watch the night before Christmas. And the at Cristmas eve at 12:00 we all joined together and we would open are presents one by one. That was our family tradition.

I have many family traditions. First off, at Christmas dinner we break bread. This is wierd, but right after dinner we open presents. Even our dog tears open his present (usually a sqeaky toy). For New Year's Eve, we watch the ball drop and stay up 'till 12:00 playing games. It's really fun.

What is the name of that bread? My children's dads family is Polish and they do this as well, but I can't remember what the bread is called!

The bread is called oplatek. The L makes a W sound. That's cool, I never knew that your kid's dad's family was Polish!

There is a polish myth that if you give your pet holy bread on Christmas Eve they will talk at midnight. We gave my dog holy bread but I crashed before 12:00.

My family tradition is where my family and I open presents the night of Christmas Eve. My mom started this tradition in America. We do that because in Mexico my moms family would eat a late lunch early dinner then open presents. Then in the middle of the night they would go to their grandmas house to eat another dinner and open more presents. The next morning when they get back they open their presents from Santa. We don't go to our grandmas house in the middle of the night because our grandparents live in Mexico and Texas.

That sounds a lot like the way we do our Christmas Eve, Lauren! We have crab legs for our Christmas Eve dinner. Sometimes I think that is almost better than the presents!

I do have a special hoilday. My family and I celabrate it, it is called Norooz. This hoilday is on the first day of Spring. This hoilday is important because on the first day of Spring it is very beautiful. In Iran everyone decorates a table with seven items. These items are called: Sabzeh (grass) , Seer ( garlic) ,Sakeh (coin) ,Seeb (apple), Sonble (flower), Samano (food) ,Senged (food). We also decorate the table with gold fish and prayer books. My favorite part of this hoilday is getting presents. That is a hoilday my family and I celebrate.

My family and I eat dinner at 4:30 pm on Christmas Eve and then we hang around the house untill like 7:00. Then we open some of the presents, next we thank each other and say our goodbyes. That very next morning on Christmas day we open the rest of the presents right when we get up. After we do that we eat breakfast and prepare for the party that night.

On Christmas morning I always get up early and open gifts. My mom always makes a special breakfast in the morning and we all watch a Christmas movie while sitting by the fire. If there is snow outside I will be heading outside in no time. Those are some of my Christmas traditions.

On Christmas eve, my family and I always sit on the couch and drink hot cocoa ,and watch Christmas Vacation. On Christmas morning, we all wake up early and open presents and see what Santa brought us. After opening presents, we either set up things that we got (like a desk or something electronic). I LOVE THE HOLIDAYS!!!!!! :)

I love my family's tradition. At my dad's house we try to go different places for Thanksgiving. We have traveled to Breckinrige, Glenwood, New Jersey, and New York. We had a ton of fun at all those places!
At my mom's house we always have a Christmas party with my step dad, Joe, and his family. It can be really crazy, but it is the holidays and I just try to go with the flow.
I love both of the traditions that we celebrate.
